CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Emmanuel College women's track and field athletes were invited to compete at the Harvard Invitational at Gordon Indoor Track on Saturday, and many had personal best performances.
Mid-distance stole the show for the Saints. Freshman Molly Hough set a new PR in the 800m indoor in a time of 2:28.03. Junior Kendall Newton (2:30.91), senior Sydney Gonzalez (2:32.41), and sophomore Emma Braga (2:40.82) also had personal best performances in the 800m event.Â
Caroline Abbott ran a new PR mile time of 6:04.51 and Julia Kurthy had her career-best 3000m performance, finishing in 11:48.39.Â
In the field events, freshman Leah Greene threw a new PR in the shot put (9.57m).
The Saints men and women will have one last tune-up next week before competing in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Indoor Track& Field Championships on February 15. The University of Massachusetts Lowell will host an invitational at the TRACK at New Balance on Friday, February 6 (women) and Saturday, February 7 (men).Â
