BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel Saints came away victorious to claim its third consecutive Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship, claiming the 2026 title on Sunday from the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. The Saints set five Emmanuel College Indoor Track & Field program records.
After winning last season's indoor championship closest margin of victory in GNAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship history, the 2026 champions collected 165 points, beating second place St. Joseph's College of Maine by nine points. Regis claimed third with Colby-Sawyer and Lasell rounding out the top five.
The 2026 Women's GNAC Indoor Champion Saints claimed seven first-place finishes across the 16 events and several runner-ups, accounting for nearly half of their points on Sunday.
Among the GNAC Individual Champions for the Saints this afternoon was three-time winner, freshman
Alisha Gomes, who finished a perfect 3-for-3 in the events she competed in and provided Emmanuel with 30 points toward the team victory.
Starting her day strong, Gomes set a new personal best and Emmanuel program record in the 60m dash preliminary round in 8.09 seconds before smashing that record again in the 60m final, in 8.02, taking first in the event. Next, she set a personal record in the 200m dash with a winning time of 26.52 seconds. Later in the afternoon, Gomes saw he third gold medal of the day in the team 4x400m relay, running the third leg of a relay with
Sofia Rowen,
Aida Davis and
Olivia Costa that nearly broke another program record (4:12.77).
Out on the track, a 400-meter, personal best performance by sophomore
Aida Davis resulted in first-place in the event, thanks to a time of 60.8 seconds.
Kendall Newton had another spectacular showing, winning the women's mile in 5:27.18 and the 3000m in 11:06.78, while also helping the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) to a second place finish. Newton contributed to 28 Emmanuel points overall.
With Newton's 10 points in the mile, the Saints added 11 more in the event, 21 total points, with a third-place finish from
Sydney Gonzalez, fourth-place for
Molly Hough, and
Emma Braga finished sixth. 17 more points came from the 3000m event, with Newton's win and fourth-through-sixth place for the Saints came from
Julia Kurthy,
Mia DeMore and
Caroline Abbott. The Saints added 14 points each in the 60mH events, 400m dash, and 800m run.
Sophomore
Donna Gauvin set a new personal best and Emmanuel program record in the 60m hurdle dash preliminary round in 9.67 seconds, and broke her own record in the 60mH final, finishing second overall with a time of 9.57. Gauvin also finished sixth in the triple jump, and earned a total of nine points for Emmanuel on the day.
In the field events,
Ava Fisher broke the program record in shot put again, throwing for 10.81m, a new PR good enough to earn her third in the event. Fischer won the women's weight throw event with a throw of 12.60m, and added 16 more points for Emmanuel.
The women's GNAC Championship is their fourth title in six years of the event. In those six years, the Saints have either won or placed second in the Championship Meet.
On the men's side of the draw, the Saints finished in second place as a team, their best finish in GNAC Men's Indoor Championship history.
The men featured just one individual GNAC Champion over 16 events and relied on depth scoring to build up points to a second place finish (79.50 points) behind Saint Joseph's College (ME).
Senior
Pierre Paul Labossiere scored 16 points for the Saints men on Sunday, taking home the individual triple-jump title with a jump of 13.54m. Labossiere set a new PR and program record in the long jump of 6.62m to earn third-place in the event.
Freshman
Sharif Robinson Jr. broke the program record, and set a new personal best, in the 60m dash finals with a time of 7.22 seconds that earned him third in the event.
Nathan Morgan contributed a team-high 20 points for the Emmanuel men. The sophomore set personal bests in the 400m (51.72), long jump (6.25m), and triple jump (12.76m) and ran the second leg of the men's 4x400m relay.
Junior
Luke Bullock added 12 points, finishing fourth place and a PR in the mile (4:44.17) and fourth place 3000m and the DMR. Freshman pole vaulter
Nathan Haber chipped in six points with his effort in the vault event, clearing the bar at 3.55m, good for third place.
The Saints will take two weeks off before kicking off the spring outdoor season.
