Emmanuel Track & Field Opens Season at Friday's SNHU Invite

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Emmanuel outdoor track and field opened their 2025 schedule on Friday, competing in the Southern New Hampshire University Invite, hosted by SNHU. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday before weather forced the meet to be moved to Friday.

The Saints took home two first-place finishes on Friday with the Saints sweeping the triple jump victories in the men's and women's competitions.

Senior Cynthia Brito opened her season with a win in the triple jump after a distance of 10.55 meters. Brito added a 12th place in the long jump and was part of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished fifth.

Junior Pierre Paul Labossiere started his outdoor year with a victory in the triple, finishing with a distance of 13.39 meters. His triple jump distance has already qualified him for the Division III New England Outdoor Championships and sits four inches shy of the outdoor program record.

Sophomore Kendall Newton made program history in the opening meet of the Saints season, setting the women's outdoor record in the mile with a time of 5:41.21. Newton's time eclipsed the previous record by over 15 seconds as the 13-year previous record now belongs to the second-year Saint.

Other top finishes on the afternoon included second place finishes for senior Desiree Robinson and sophomore Amy Proulx. Robinson came away with a second place in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.56 meters, qualifying for the Division III New England Championships in the process. Proulx's second place spot came courtesy of the javelin, following a throw of 28.69 meters.

On the men's side, sophomore Nicholas Ware recorded an eighth place finish in the 10,000 meters, thanks to his time of 36:55.71. A pair of ninth place finishes were earned by junior Andrew Kubaska and sophomore Luke Bullock in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and the 10k, respectively.

For the Saints women, third place spots came for first-years Olivia Costa and Aida Davis in the 400 meters and 800 meters, respectively.

The Saints return to the track on Friday, April 4, at the Regis Spring Invite, starting at 10:00 a.m.
