Men's Golf Caps 2025 Spring Season at Korzec Memorial as Reynolds, Ridolfi Finish Collegiate Careers

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Emmanuel men's golf team wrapped up the spring portion of their 2025 schedule, competing for the first time in the Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational, hosted by Worcester State at Tatnuck Country Club on Monday, April 28.

A picture-perfect day for golf in the Worcester Hills saw Saints first-year Andrew Lavoie card a 3-over round of 73, placing him in solo-fourth. Lavoie struggled through the 8th and 17th holes, playing them in 3-over, while shooting even through the other 16 holes on Monday.

Senior Ian Reynolds finished his incredible career with a round of 77 (+7), good for a tie for 13th place. The four-year Saint and three-year captain has made a program-record 47 starts for the Saints, holds the second-lowest career scoring average, and secured the top two spots in lowest single-season scoring average in program history.

Sophomore Ryan Brunet came in at T19, shooting a 79 around the hilly Tatnuck CC. Fellow sophomore Aidan Quinn was the final counting score for the Saints, shooting a collegiate career low of 87.

Senior Gianni Ridolfi finished off his career with a round of 20-over-par, 90. Ridolfi's 23 appearances for the Saints are the eighth-most in the program's history, while the native of Kittery, Maine holds the distinction of being the only Saint to make a hole-in-one in competition, coming last fall at South Shore Country Club.

As a team, Emmanuel finished fifth, shooting 316 to secure a top-five finish by 13 shots over the University of New England. The Western New England Golden Bears fired a team total of 288, winning the event, while first-year Derek Johnson of Western NE, shot a 4-under round of 66 to claim the medalist honors and the Korzec Cup.

The Saints 2024-25 team will be regarded as one of the best in team history. In 11 total rounds, the Saints averaged a team score of 326, the lowest average team score in program history, being the previous record by over five shots. Among those rounds was a new single-match program record low score of 309 during the fall.
