HINGHAM, Mass. – Emmanuel men's golf scored its second runner-up team finish of the season, placing second in Wednesday's Saints Invitational, hosted at South Shore Country Club. Emmanuel's score of 330 is the best score in team history at an event at South Shore CC.
Saints junior Ryan Brunet led the home side, shooting a 7-over round of 79, good for a tie for third. Sophomore Andrew Lavoie posted a T5 finish, thanks to his round of 81.
First-year Cormac Doherty finished in a tie for seventh with his 10-over score of 82. Fellow rookies Jack Ouellette and Jackson Burke placed just outside the top-10, shooting 88 and 92, respectively.
Rhode Island College won the event by a dozen shots over Emmanuel, thanks in part to a medalist performance by senior Jasper Bruins-Slot. The Anchormen senior carded a round of 1-under par, 71, on the way to victory.
The Saints are back in action next week, as they head to Valley Country Club for the Rhode Island College Fall Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 16, starting at 10:00 a.m.
