QUINCY, Mass. – Emmanuel men's golf produced a pair of program records on Thursday at the inaugural Lesley Invitational, hosted at the President's Golf Course, as a team score of 305 and a round of 71 by junior Ryan Brunet, both set new marks for lowest scores not relative to par in team history. Brunet's 71 bests the individual program record by one shot, while the Saints total of 305 beats the previous mark by four shots.

The President's Golf Course played to a par 70 on the day, as the junior co-captain of the Saints was out in front early on Thursday, making two birdies to go with one bogey in the opening five holes. Brunet capped off his impressive front nine with back-to-back birdies on eight and nine to shoot 31 on the front.

His run continued to the 11^th where another birdie moved him to 4-under-par for the day. Coming to the clubhouse, a trifecta of bogeys, matched with a double bogey on the par-5 15^th hole, dropped Brunet from under par to 1-over, to finish with the program record of 71.

Sophomore Andrew Lavoie carded a round of 6-over-par, 76, good for fifth place. Lavoie started with a front side 37, matched with a back nine total of 39, on his way to a top-five finish. First-year Sean Fenton posted an 8-over, 78, to finish in seventh, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 12^th hole at the President's Golf Course.

Rookies Cormac Doherty and Jack Ouellette both shot 80 on the day, tying for ninth place in the event.

The Saints total of 305 was five shots ahead of second-place Suffolk, and 10 shots clear of third-place New England College. The host team of Lesley came in fourth place with a team total of 343.

Emmanuel heads back into play on Saturday, April 11, playing in the Saint Joseph's College 36-Hole Invitational, hosted at the Captain's Golf Course.
