BREWSTER, Mass. – Saints men's golf continued its strong spring season, claiming the team victory on Saturday at the Cape Cod 36-Hole Invitational, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine at Captain's Golf Course. Over 36 holes, the Saints totaled a score of 637, as the program shot a Round 1 total of 314, followed by a Round 2 total of 323.
Junior
Ryan Brunet added another medalist honor to his name on Saturday, winning the 36-hole event by one stroke. The junior co-captain of the Saints shot matching 5-over-par, 77s, at the Port Course in the morning round, then the Starboard Course in the afternoon session.
First-year
Jack Ouellette had his best finish as a Saints player, finishing one shot behind Brunet on the day. The rookie opened with a 4-over, 76, on the Port Course, before shooting a 78 on the Starboard side, for a total of 11-over.
Sophomore
Andrew Lavoie finished in a tie for third on Saturday, shooting a total of 17-over-par, 161. He started his day with a 7-over, 79 on the Port Course, followed by a round of 82 on the Starboard side.
First-years
Cormac Doherty and
Jackson Burke both had counting scores in the 36-hole event. Doherty's round of 82 on the Port matched with Burke's round of 85 on the Starboard, rounded out the counting scores for the Saints.
The Saints finish up the spring portion of the schedule next weekend at the Rhode Island College Spring Invitational on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18.
