GORHAM, Maine - Emmanuel men's and women's indoor track & field headed North on Saturday to start their 2026 schedule at the University of Southern Maine Open II, hosted by the Southern Maine Huskies.
The highlights of the day included four combined second-place finishes between the men's and women's programs. Senior
Pierre Paul Labossiere had a pair of second place finishes on Saturday, as a high jump of 1.84 meters and a triple jump of 12.64 meters, earned Labossiere second place in the respective events. First-year
Sharif Robinson Jr. posted a second place finish in the long jump, thanks to a distance of 6.31 meters.
The second place finish of the afternoon for the Saints women came from sophomore
Donna Gauvin, who finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 9.70 meters. Gauvin had an impressive afternoon, adding a third place in the 55-meter hurdles, including a PR time of 9.10 seconds in the prelims of the event.Â
Other top finishes on the day included numerous third place spots for the Saints women's team. Junior
Kendall Newton took third in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:11.20. First-year
Alisha Gomes earned third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.61, whole her fellow rookie
Molly Hough was third in the mile with a time of 5:43.73.
For the men, junior
Jahan Puryear finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.55. First-year
Eli Roy came away with a fifth place finish in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.69 meters.
The Saints are back in action on Sunday, Jan. 18, as they head to the Suffolk University Ice Breaker, hosted at the TRACK at New Balance.
