WINTHROP, Mass. – After throwing her first career collegiate no-hitter on Saturday afternoon against Elms, Saints first-year pitcher Carmen Crockett was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday afternoon. Crockett is the third Saints pitcher since 2021 to record a no-hitter, while all three of those no-hitters since 2021 came against conference opponents.
Crockett recorded a career-high 13 strikeouts in the Saints 16-0 victory over Elms on Saturday afternoon, recording her 13 K's while facing only 17 batters. The rookie pitcher struck out eight of the first 10 batters the Blazers brought to the plate, while walks in the second inning and fourth inning stood as the only marks against a perfect game.
The Saints collected a pair of GNAC wins over Elms this past Saturday, claiming an 11-3 run-rule victory in game two of the afternoon. Emmanuel moves to 3-10 (2-0 GNAC, 0-0 GNAC North) with the sweep of the Blazers.
Emmanuel returns to action on Tuesday, March 24, with a rescheduled game against Wentworth at 5:00 p.m. The two sides will face off in just one game in a battle between the Colleges of the Fenway foes.
