WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel softball added two names to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference squad, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Junior MeKayla Poisson scored a spot on the GNAC First Team at designed player, while fellow junior Mia Fernandes was voted to the Third Team at shortstop.

Poisson becomes Emmanuel's first player since 2021 to be named to the All-Conference First Team at designed player after Tianna Dawe '23 was voted to the position following her sophomore season.

The junior moved around the entire Saints lineup this season, finishing with a team-best .392 batting average. In 18 games against GNAC opponents, Poisson led the conference with a .525 average, as one of four players to bat over .500 in conference play.

Her 49 hits this season were tied for seventh-most in the GNAC, while Poisson becomes one of seven Saints players since 2001 to record 49 hits in a single season. Poisson possessed a 15-game hitting streak through the final weeks of the season, before that came to an end in a hitless loss to Simmons on May 3.

Fernandes scored a spot on the Third Team after finishing the season batting .375, marking the 12^th-best average in the conference. In her 18 games in conference against the GNAC, Fernandes held a .449 average, good for ninth among all players.

With 52 hits, the junior shortstop finished tied for third-most in the GNAC and became the latest Saints player to reach 100 career hits. In the process, Fernandes also became one of five Saints since 2001 with at least 52 hits in a single season.

The Saints year came to a close in the Pod A Finals in a 7-2 loss to Simmons. Emmanuel finished the year 16-24 overall.
