CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In their final meet before the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship, Emmanuel Track & Field headed to MIT for the Sean Collier Invitational on Saturday.
Senior
Caroline Carey posted a pair of top-eight finishes on the track, setting program records in the 100 meters and 200 meters. Her 100-meter time of 12.54 placed her fourth, while the 200-meter time of 25.74 was good for eighth. Both times earned Carey qualification to the New England Division III Regional Championships.
The top finishes of the day belonged to senior
Desiree Robinson, who placed second in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump. Robinson's high jump of 1.58 meters, long jump of 5.29 meters, and triple jump of 11.18 meters were all good for second position. The high jump clearance is a new PR and was .75 inches shy of the program record.
Junior
Ava Fisher took home sixth place in the javelin, setting a PR with a throw of 35.52 meters. Fisher's PR throw was also good enough for New England Division III Regional qualification.
On the men's side, the top finish went to junior
Pierre Paul Labossiere, who came in third place in the triple jump with a distance of 13.09 meters. Labossiere added a sixth place in the long jump with a PR distance of 6.37 meters and a seventh place finish in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.83 meters.
Senior
Joey Soucy added a seventh place spot in the triple jump with a distance of 11.25 meters. First-year
Nathan Morgan also added a seventh place finish, coming in the long jump with a distance of 6.03 meters.
The Saints head to the GNAC Championship on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, hosted at Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
