WESTON, Mass. – With two meets over two days, Emmanuel men's and women's outdoor track and field competed in their second event of the season, traveling to Regis College for the Regis Spring Classic on Friday afternoon.
Junior
Pierre Paul Labossiere continued to rewrite the Emmanuel Track and Field record books, taking first place in the triple jump with his program record of 13.69 meters (44' 11"). He added second place in the high jump and fourth place in the long jump to go along with his record in the triple.
Senior
Jahan Puryear came away with a third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 2.60 meters. Sophomores
Nicholas Ware and
Ryan Bausch placed seventh in the 5,000-meter and 1,500-meter runs, respectively.
On the women's side, the triple jump duo of seniors
Desiree Robinson and
Cynthia Brito came in first and third, respectively, following distances of 11.17 and 10.65 meters. In the process, Brito joined Robinson for qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships in the triple.
Junior
Ava Fisher came away with her first career win in the javelin, claiming victory following a throw of 31.14 meters (102' 2").
FITCHBURG, Mass. – On Saturday, the program made their way to Fitchburg State for the Jim Sheehan Invite.
Robinson continued her impressive weekend, adding a pair of second place finishes in the high jump and 400 meter hurdles. First-year
Aida Davis came away with a second place in the 400 meters, with a time of 1:02.51, and a third place in the 200 meters, with a time of 28.66.
Labossiere placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.75 meters. Senior
Justin Elkin posted a ninth-place finish in the shotput, with a throw of 10.89 meters.
The Saints are back in action with the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College, on Friday and Saturday.
