LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Emmanuel men's lacrosse Class of 2025 graduate Jack Antico made one final bit of history in his Saints career, being the first player in program history to be named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American, as announced by the USILA Office on Tuesday, July 1.
Antico becomes just the second Emmanuel men's lacrosse player to be recognized by the USILA in an All-American capacity, joining Chris Curtis ('16), who was a USILA All-American Honorable Mention midfielder in his senior year.
A native of Elkridge, Md. and impactful defender for the Saints, Antico saved his best for last in his senior season, recording career-highs in games started, ground balls, and caused turnovers. He was one of only two Saints to start in all 18 games this season, while his 27 caused turnovers led the team to go along with the second-most ground balls for Emmanuel with 47.
After finishing his breakout senior season, Antico was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team on defense, earning his first career All-Conference Team nomination.
"I'm incredibly honored to be recognized as a USILA Scholar All-American. This award means a lot to me because it reflects both my commitment to the sport and my academics," said Antico. "I'm grateful to my coaches, professors, teammates, and family for their constant support on and off the field."
To qualify to be named a USILA Scholar All-American, student-athletes must be a senior in academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The nominees must also be an All-American, a North-South team member, or an outstanding conference player, while also upholding the spirit of sportsmanship for their team and institution.
Antico is the GNAC's only representative on the USILA Scholar All-American Team and is the first GNAC student-athlete since 2023 to be named a USILA Scholar All-American, following a trio of players from Albertus Magnus who made the Scholar All-American list two years ago.
A Class of 2025 member, Antico graduated this past May with a bachelor's degree in Biology.
