WINTHROP, Mass. – After scoring the game-tying goal, matched with one assist last Tuesday against Suffolk, Emmanuel men's soccer first-year Jaylen Goodall has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday, for the week ending on Sept. 14.
The Saints trailed the Rams 2-0 in the final 30 minutes on Tuesday night. Goodall got onto the scoresheet with an assist in the 66th minute, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Later, in the 85th minute, a Saints free kick found the head of Goodall, whose redirection of the cross found the back of the net, resulting in the 2-2 draw.
The Saints are unbeaten in through their first five games this season, sitting at 1-0-4, including a 0-0-1 mark in conference play, following a draw on Saturday to Rivier.
Emmanuel has a pair of matches this week, starting with a 4:00 p.m. match at Fitchburg State on Tuesday, Sept. 16, before returning home on Sept. 21, for a 7:00 p.m., Saturday night kickoff, with New England College
