Tye Barrett are off to strong starts for the men's volleyball team, and have been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Offensive Player and Setter of the Week, respectively, as announced by the GNAC on Monday afternoon.
Guest collected 69 kills across 15 sets (4.60 k/s) on a .277% attack percentage with 29 digs (1.93 d/s), and 10 total blocks (0.67 b/s) to guide the Saints to a 2-2 week. Guest had 13 kills and eight digs against #17 ranked MIT before collecting 20 kills, six digs, and three blocks against Endicott. The senior closed out the week with 14 kills, seven digs, and three blocks in a sweep over Bard and followed with 22 kills and eight digs in a win over Elms.
First-year setter
Tye Barrett facilitated the Saints offense with 113 assists on the week, averaging 8.07 assists per set across four matches. Barrett had 19 assists against #17 nationally-ranked MIT and collected 30 against Endicott. The rookie ended the week in two tri-match victories with 18 assists in only two sets of a sweep over Bard before finishing with a career-high 46 assists in a four-set victory over Elms.
The Saints are back in action with just one match this week, heading to Wheaton on Tuesday, Jan. 27, for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
