WEYMOUTH, Mass. - Emmanuel women's track and field first-year Alisha Gomes ran her best 100-meter time of the outdoor season, resulting in being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday, April 20. It's the second time this season Gomes has earned the Rookie of the Week honors after claiming the award in Week 1 of the season.

At Saturday's Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by MIT, Gomes ran a PR time of 12.76 seconds. The time resulted in an eighth-place finish in the event, while also being the top time in the conference and a provisional qualifying time for the DIII New England Outdoor Championships. 
 
The Saints look to reclaim the GNAC Outdoor Championship as the conference title will be determined this upcoming weekend on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26. This year's GNAC Championship will be hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
