Standish, Maine - For the first time since 2023, Women's Outdoor T&F won the GNAC Championship, completing the clean sweep of all the Women's track and cross-country championships for the 2025-2026 academic year. Emmanuel had nine total first place finishers over the two-day event, tallying 211 points and breaking multiple school records en-route to another championship celebration. The Men's T&F team also performed well, finishing as the runner-up to host Saint Joseph's College.
To start off day one for Emmanuel, junior
Kason Huynh grabbed first place with a 1.56m finish to secure 10 early points for the team.
In Women's Javelin,
Ava Fisher started off her record-breaking weekend by taking first place, smashing the program record by nearly 3 full meters, with a final throw of 41.30 meters. This is good for 18th in the entire country in DIII.
In the Saturday track events, the women were able to snag their third first place finish of the day with the 4x800m relay, as the team of
Sydney Gonzalez,
Kendall Newton,
Molly Hough and
Aida Davis finished with a time of 10:00.53.
Back to the field events for day two,
Ava Fisher and
Madison Reilly placed on the podium for the women's hammer throw, coming in second and third and scoring 14 points for the team. Fisher was also able to snag second place in the shotput, but not without breaking another school record with a final mark of 11.13m.
The Emmanuel relay team also enjoyed a dominant day two, just narrowly coming in second for the 4x100 relay, and securing first place in the 4x400 relay as
Aida Davis,
Sofia Rowen,
Alisha Gomes and
Olivia Costa finished with a time of 4:09:44.
This would be the start of a big day for Gomes, as she was also able to claim the gold medal in the 100-meter dash, as well as the 200-meter dash.
In the 1500, The Saints were very well represented as three of the top four placers in this event were from Emmanuel.
Kendall Newton took home the gold, while
Sydney Gonzalez and
Emma Braga came in third and fourth respectively. In the 800,
Aida Davis continued her big meet with another first place finish, while
Molly Hough also came in sixth for the Saints, securing them another point.
On the men's side, there was one record broken on Saturday and it came in the Long jump, with Pierre Paul Labossierre coming in third for the event, but breaking the program record with a 6.71m jump. Shariff Robinson came in fourth, with another impressive jump of 6.46m.
In the track events, the men came up just short in the 4x800m relay but did secure a second place finish as a team of
Luke Bullock,
Jahan Puryear,
Ryan Bausch and
Nathan Morgan finished with a time of 8.24.97.
In the pole vault, freshman
Nathan Haber represented the school strongly, coming in second place with a 3.65m mark, good enough to shatter the previous program record of 2.60m.
The men were also well represented in the 400-meter dash, as
Nathan Morgan tallied a second place finish, with
Eli Roy coming in fourth to also secure some points for the team.
The Saints were able to dominate the 5000, taking up the two top spots with Nick Ware and
Luke Bullock both finishing sub 17 and scoring 18 points for the team.
In the final field event, Pierre Paul Lobossierre won the gold, while
Nathan Morgan was not far behind coming in second place.
The men's team had an impressive showing in Standish, recording 145 points and fending off Regis for the runner-up plaque, but the hosts Saint Joseph College tallied 233 points and took home the championship.
