WINTHROP, Mass. - Saints first-year forward
Lucas Silvia had points in both of Emmanuel's matches this week, helping the team to a 2-0 week, while earning the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player and Rookie of the Week awards, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday. This is the second time this season Silvia has been named the GNAC Rookie of the Week, after claiming the honor in Week 1. Monday's announcement marks the first Player of the Week award for the rookie forward this season.
Silvia opened the week with one goal and one assist in a 5-0 win over Lasell. He followed that performance with a one goal outing at Albertus Magnus on Saturday. The rookie opened the scoring on both nights, scoring in the fourth minute against Lasell and the 10th minute against Albertus Magnus.
With his two-goal, one-assist week, Silvia has three goals and three assists on the year. He's tied for the team lead in goals and leads the Saints in assists and points.
Two weeks remain in the regular season, as the Saints have a Wednesday trip to Saint Joseph's College for a 7:00 p.m. match and a Saturday trip to Elms for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff this week.
