WINTHROP, Mass. - Emmanuel first-year goalie Owen Silva played an important role in a 1-0-1 week for men's soccer, and has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalie and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the GNAC Office on Monday afternoon.

Silva started the week with eight saves in a 2-1 win at Dean on Sept. 23. He followed that performance with six stops at the University of Saint Joseph on Sept. 27, earning a draw in a 1-1 game. Silva sits at 3-1-3 this season with a 1.19 goals against average and a .837 save percentage over seven matches.

The Saints are back in action with a pair of home matches this week. Emmanuel hosts Norwich on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7:00 p.m. before celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 4, against Colby-Sawyer at 3:00 p.m.
